Academy of Finance (AOF)

The Academy of Finance prepares students for post-secondary education in finance-related majors as well as other courses of study that demand a strong academic foundation in math, social studies, and writing.
 
Curriculum
Curriculum for the Academy of Finance contains essential content based on expertise from financial industry leaders and education experts.  Courses include:
  • Finance and Business Technology
  • Accounting Applications
  • Financial Operations
  • Personal Financial Planning
  • Financial Internship
Along with their required courses, Academy of Finance students take dual enrollment courses while still in high school.  The curriculum applies project-based learning and integrates literacy instruction through an extended inquiry process that simulates professional knowledge and workplace behavior.
 
Internships
Academy of Finance students work as interns at banks, brokerage houses, insurance companies, accounting firms, government agencies, as well as the finance departments in a variety of corporations and industries. These internships connect students to the real world of work and establish important relationships between students and adult professionals in financial services.
